چکیده

We review recent results on the linear and non-linear optical response of realistic quantum-wire structures. Our theoretical approach is based on a set of generalized semiconductor Bloch equations, and allows a full threedimensional multisubband description of Coulomb correlation for any shape of the confinement profile, thus permitting a direct comparison with experiments for available state-of-the-art wire structures. Our results show that electron-hole Coulomb correlation removes the onedimensional band-edge singularities from the absorption spectra, whose shape results to be heavily modified with respect to the ideal free-particle case over the whole range of photoexcited carrier densities. Implication of Quantum Effects on Non-Linear Propagation of Electron Plasma Solitons

We have studied the electron exchange-correlation effect on thecharacteristics of the two-component unmagnetized dense quantum plasma withstreaming motion. For this purpose, we have used the quantum hydrodynamic model(including the effects of a quantum statistical Fermi electron temperature) for studyingthe propagation of an electrostatic electron plasma waves in such th...

Exchange interaction in quantum rings and wires in the Wigner-crystal limit

We present a controlled method for computing the exchange coupling in correlated one-dimensional electron systems based on the relation between the exchange constant and the pair-correlation function of spinless electrons. This relation is valid in several independent asymptotic regimes, including the low-electron-density case, under the general condition of a strong spin-charge separation. Exp...

Linear and nonlinear optical properties of a modified Gaussian quantum dot: pressure, temperature and impurity effect

In this paper, the effect of pressure, temperature and impurity on the energylevels, binding energy, linear and nonlinear optical properties of a modified Gaussianquantum dot are studied. In this regard, the finite element method is employed to solvethe single electron Schrodinger equation in the effective mass approximation with andwithout impurity at the center of the dot. In addition, the en...

ABSTRACT The solvatochromic behaviour of two ketonic derivatives of benzodiazepine namely 7-chloro-1-methyl-5-phenyl-1,5-benzodiazepine-2,4-dione (Clobazam®) and 5,(2-chlorophenyl)-7-nitro-2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzodiazepine-2-one (Clonazepam®) were analysed in some selected solvents of different polarities using UV-Visible spectroscopy and DFT computational techniques. The solute-solvent interacti...

Investigation of electron correlation effects in armchair silicene nanoribbons

In this study, the electronic structure of armchair silicene nanoribbons (ASiNRs) is investigated for various widths using first-principle calculations and the framework of the density functional theory. Electronic structure of ASiNRs shows a direct band gap which is decreased  with increasing the nanoribbon's width, showing an oscillatory behavior. The effective Coulomb interaction between loca...
